Fill in the lines that apply, add a buffer for surprises and print the sheet. It is saved in this browser, so you can come back to it.

What belongs on a moving budget

The mover or the truck is the obvious line. The ones that surprise people are deposits and the first month of rent, cleaning the old place, storage between homes, utility setup fees, a few nights of travel and meals, and a tip for the crew. The sheet starts with these lines and lets you rename, remove or add your own.

Use your other estimates

If you used the moving cost calculator or the tip calculator in this browser, the sheet offers to copy their middle figures into the matching lines. You can still edit every number.

Print or save

The free PDF lists up to 12 lines and counts every line in the totals, then adds blank tip envelopes if you have a tip estimate. It carries a small “Made free” line. The Move Planner ($4.99, one time) prints up to 40 lines and a CSV file for a spreadsheet, a packing checklist, envelopes with names and a quote inventory. Read the pricing page for the list.

Questions

How much should I budget for a move?

Add the mover or truck, supplies, deposits, travel, cleaning, utilities and a tip, then add a buffer of 10 percent or more. The calculator does the adding.

Is my budget saved?

Yes, in this browser only. Clearing your site data removes it. Nothing is sent to a server.

Can I export it to a spreadsheet?

A CSV export is part of the Move Planner. The free version prints a PDF.

Why a buffer?

Small extras such as tape, parking, tolls and a late fee add up. A 10 percent buffer keeps them from breaking the plan.

Is it free?

Yes. Every calculator works on screen without an account, and the share link and a basic printout are free. The Move Planner ($4.99, one time) adds the full budget workbook, packing checklist, named tip envelopes and a room-by-room inventory.
